What happens when you press the G key?

Grid turns on and off

Pressing the G key toggles the grid visibility in the active viewport. The grid serves as a reference plane with a familiar square pattern that helps you judge scale and alignment. When you press G, the grid will hide if it’s visible and reappear if it’s hidden, making it a quick way to get a cleaner view or restore the reference when needed. The other options describe different features (guides, or locking geometry) that aren’t controlled by this shortcut.
